Make your own teapot card (free template!)

I made this card for a friend’s birthday to invite her for a high tea party. However, this greeting card is also perfect for a birthday, Mother's day or as a thank you note for a tealover. Download the PDF template below and follow the steps to make your own teapot card.

How to make a teapot card?
You will need:
- Scissors, glue and a pencil
- Teapot card template
- A4 white cardstock printing paper (minimum 180 gsm or 66 lb)
- A4 paper for card base, e.g. kraft cardstock
- Coloured or patterned paper
- Extras: images, stickers, stamps, ... to decorate your teapot
Step 1
The template consists of 2 pages. Print both pages on heavy weight paper, preferably between 180 and 250 gsm. Cut out the shapes. These will be used as template to trace with a pencil.
Step 2
Trace the teapot (page 1) onto folded cardstock paper with the flat top of the teapot against the fold. Cut out the teapot, but do not cut along the fold!
I used kraft paper as card base.
Step 3
Trace the teapot details (page 2) onto coloured or patterned paper. Cut out the details and adhere them to your card.
I distressed all paper edges with Distress Ink Tea Dye before adhering the patterned paper to the card base.
Step 4
Decorate your teapot with images, stickers, stamps, ... Use your imagination!
I used a 3D image from a decoupage sheet (brand: Yvonne Creations). The image consists of multiple layers that are mounted onto each other with foam pads. It creates a 3D effect.
You can write your message on the inside of the card and/or add some tea bags for the recipient.
Do you sometimes make cards that aren't square or rectangle shaped?

Just GORgeous! The sweetest of images and such a super design.
